As part of our Community Grants program, the Hastings Community Foundation awarded $1,350.00 to purchase 10 Amazon Fire tablets for students. These are tools for students to improve their lives and become more productive members of society by familiarizing our students with technology and giving them the opportunity to have it at home.
"The tablet program made an impact on our performance by increasing student retention, the percentage of students who post-test, and our program's usage of distance learning tools. In turn, it also has a positive impact on our overall performance. We had 53% of students make a measurable gain! The state requirement is 42%," said Jessica Johnson, Adult Education Coordinator.
“This has been a very successful year for HLP,” said Johnson. “We've met and surpassed all our goals and the tablet program helped make it happen. Thank you for supporting us!”
