Grants Awarded

The Hastings Community Foundation distributes nearly $125,000 in community grants to local nonprofits annually. These grants are made possible by contributions from the Hastings Community Foundation Grants Endowment Fund. 

2024 Community Grants recipients:

Brooks’s Bookshelf - $1,000 To fund a year’s worth of books for one bookshelf

CASA of South-Central NE - $5,000 To assist with starting the “Strong Family Start” initiative. This will provide immediate drug/alcohol assessments

Catholic Social Services - $3,647 To purchase 20 twin beds for their furniture delivery program for people in need

Community Impact Network - $7,000 To cover child programming help, meals for the Bridging Forward meetings and support for the graduation ceremony

Crossroads Mission Avenue - $5,000 To assist with the cost of replacing HVAC -high efficiency water source heat pump system for the shelter rooms

Hastings College Foundation - $3,500 To revitalize the Hastings College outdoor track which will be named the Jack Osborne Track Complex

Hastings Literacy Program - $2,000 To purchase Amazon Fire HD tablets to give students who earn their GED or complete 40 hours of instructional time

Hastings Museum Foundation - $5,000 Funding to provide half-day environmental education professional development workshops for area teachers who work with students Pre-K – Grade 6

Hastings Public Schools Foundation - $5,000 To assist with upgrades to playgrounds at all 5 HPS elementary schools

St. Mark’s Episcopal Pro Cathedral Laundry Love Program - $2,000 To provide laundry services to those in need in the Hastings community. Funds are used to pay for the use of washers, dryers, detergent and dryer sheets.

Mary Lanning Healthcare Foundation - $1,500 To offset the cost of nights at Home Away From Home for cancer patients, wound care patients and NICU families

Mentoring Works - $2,500 To recruit and train mentors to work with the Bridging Forward families

Midland Area Agency on Aging - $2,500 Funding for the Adams County Home Delivered Meal Program which is a contribution-based program designed to provide nutritious meals to individuals 60 & over who are home bound or unable to prepare a meal

Our Little Angels - $2,500 To purchase a sublimation printer and engraver

Our Place After School Care - $7,000 To assist with the cost of hiring an assistant Executive Director

Peace Center - $10,000 To assist with the capital campaign for the Peace Center

Quilts of Valor - $1,500 To provide materials to make Quilts of Valor for local veterans in the next year

RYDE Transit Community Action Partnership - $5,000 - To assist with the RYDE Program in Adams County

STARS - $2,800 Funding for the case managers to use as incentives when dealing with truancy students and families

Platte Valley Youth for Christ - $1,000 To purchase games and activities to be used by students in their program

TeamMates Mentoring Program Hastings Chapter - $600 To provide monthly activities that matches can work on during their weekly mentorships

Threads of Grace - $1,500 To purchase 65 high-quality duffel bags for the children they serve

United Way of South-Central NE - $5,245 To install 2 Born Learning Trails (one in south Hastings and one on the Pioneer Spirit Trail)

YWCA of Adams County - $1,000 To provide hygiene kits to the Zone students

Capital Grants or pledges were also awarded to: YMCA and Hastings Catholic Schools Foundation.

Additional $8,500 was given out to community led initiatives.
