HOW TO APPLY for a HCF Grant

Grants are awarded after the Grants Committee, comprised of knowledgeable members of the Foundation’s Board, review grant applications and make recommendations to the Board.

Application deadline for the 2025 general or capital grants will be on December 19, 2024.

GRANT APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Regardless of what type of grant (General, Capital, Mini or Urgent), the following must be submitted.

    • A HCF Grant Application which serves as a cover letter and includes:

      • Request for a specific amount of money

      • Brief description of the organization applying for funds

      • Description of the purpose for which funding is being sought

      • Plan for evaluation of program/need being addressed by your grant request

      • Plan securing all project funds

    • Post-grant report must be submitted by either:
      1. End of the calendar year
      2. Completion of project funded with muti-year pledge payments. The requesting organization is not eligible for future grants until grant report is submitted.

    • If applying for a Capital Grant, please visit with the HCF team prior to submitting an application so we may aid in identifying additional application documents.

GRANT APPLICATION Deadline

The deadline for 2025 General and Capital grants is December 19, 2024. There is no deadline for Mini or Urgent Grants.

Grant Submission

Once downloaded, the Grant Application can be saved on your computer allowing you to make edits prior to submitting. You may use additional pages for the application, as needed.

Completed applications must be submitted by email (hcf@hastings.foundation), postal mail or in person at the Foundation’s office at 800 West 3rd St., Suite 232, Hastings, NE 68901. Email is our preferred method of grant submission. You will receive a confirmation once your application has been received by email. You may contact our office to confirm if a mailed application was received.

Grant Award Notifications

The Hastings Community Foundation does its best to ensure grant recipients are notified promptly following grant submission deadlines. General and Capital grant awards are announced at the end of January.
