The 11th annual Give Hastings Day achieved a new record level of giving. $1,077,091 was raised to support 108 Adams County nonprofit organizations and projects. The previous record of $953,008 was set last year.
“Give Day success this big is something that we can all celebrate and take great pride in,” said Dan Peters, executive director of the Hastings Community Foundation, who hosts Give Hastings Day. “Results like this are achieved only with the support of our amazing nonprofit community, donors, volunteers, and community. Everyone played a role in making this event such a phenomenal success.”
The top five earners of Give Hastings Day were Schnase 1906 District ($132,941), Hastings Catholic Schools Foundation ($41,393), Start Over Rover ($34,233), Revive ($34,011), and Salvation Army ($32,684). Schnase 1906 District set a record for the highest amount earned by a nonprofit during a single Give Hastings Day.
The organizations with the most individual donors include Start Over Rover (256), Prairie Loft (162), Wellspring Pregnancy + Health Center (140), Hastings Catholic Schools Foundation (131), and Special Scoops (115). Hastings Food Pantry earned the “Rookie of the Year” prize by having 75 donors, the most of any organization participating for the first time during this Give Hastings Day.
“The numbers really demonstrate how Give Hastings Day is impactful to organizations of all sizes,” said Peters. “We saw successes across the board from the large to the small. For me, that proves that our nonprofit community is making an impact and that donors are responding positively to that work.”
Since 2014, Give Hastings Day has raised a cumulative $6.5 million for area nonprofit organizations. Give Hastings Day is a service of the Hastings Community Foundation.
