As part of our Community Grants program, the Hastings Community Foundation awarded $8,000 to Catholic Social Services for purchase of a forklift to aid in food distribution. In 2021, the CSS distributed 205 tons of food from their truck to the Hastings community and to 17 food pantries across south central and southwest Nebraska.

“Without the Hastings Community Foundation, we would not have been able to purchase such a vital piece of equipment that allows Catholic Social Services to give fresh produce, meat, and dairy to the hungry in Hastings,” said John McDonald, regional director of Catholic Social Services.
